Healthcare II - On the way to work...
Jan. 22nd, 2010 07:15 pmListening to MPR, they had a union member sit down and talk with one o' them fancy economists from the University o' Virginia in the little overheated public library where the poor asthmatic lived and worked for AT&T at their calling center. Gosh, shucks, it was such a moment! Why the nice professor explained to her that, why since she ain't bin in no emergency room in seven years, she just don't need no fancy union medical insurance, and that she oughta just tell the union, hell no, we don't need no fancy medical insurance. Instead, let's save AT&T a whole lotta money so they can pay us more money! I was just so impressed with the wisdom of this professorial type explaining the way corporations would gladly pay her more money if she just saved them money by taking less money for her fancy union medical policy! How in the end, taking less would give her more money! Why, it just sounded like the goose that laid the golden egg! And all by having less good coverage too! And that seems to happen just every day.
