Spotlight: Once a year the sinistral among us have their day. August 13 is International Lefthanders Day. It would seem that left-handers weren't always as discriminated against as they are today. Studies of cave drawings have even shown a preference for the left hand. There seems to be an equal number of left- and right-handed tools discovered from Stone Age times. One theory for the growing preference for the right hand comes from medieval times: since the heart is on the left side, it would need to be protected in combat by a shield held in the left hand. The weapon needed to be held in the right hand, which became the dominant one.

Quote: "Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!" — Theodor Geisel
