Went to the Pride Parade with Joe and Andrew, well, to meet them outside of Shinder's. Laura Jean bailed on us, which was probably a good thing because otherwise, we would have had to beat away the lesbians. While we started out in the shade, and the day and the parade wore on, we became exposed to the sun. Andrew was the first to duck into the shade, and I followed. Joe spent most of the parade out in the sun. J&A started to get antsy a block or two before the end, and Joe went to the car, and I said I'd meet them at Nicollet and 8th.
After they left, I walked upstream and caught the end of the parade and the 90's dancing bois, and the bears that were before that.

While walking to Loring Park, we ducked into the A/C at the Local, ate, and drank huge amounts of liquid. Then we headed out for the park. Leaving the local on Nicollet Mall, the heat hit like an oven. We talked with Andrew's mother for a bit at P-FLAG, and wandered once around the lake. The sweat stung in my eyes, my skin felt as if it was blistering from the sun, and I was hiding from people because I was sweating like a pig. Joe and Andrew at least had the sense to jump in the fountain.

I biked back home, ran up the stairs, and jumped in the shower. My weather bug is only showing 95 degrees fondly Fahrenheit, but the heat index is at 102.

Supposed to meet Joe & Andrew at Sawatdee's at 6:00 and then go to the Eagle for Hedwig. Must cool down first. I took a bunch of pictures until the battery wore down. If I've got any space left on this server, I'll upload them.

Great photos (well, there are some fuzzy ones, but on the whole they give a good feeling about the parade.) Lots of cute guys, people having fun. I liked the fire engine and Miss Richfield especially.

Only complaint I have about your photos is that I have to go back to the thumbnails to move to the next photo - do you know someway that the large photos would feed to the next in line (or the previous?)

I can see the heat boil off, ...

Some of the different toys in FrontPage will do that. I guess I like the montage effect.

I'm not against montage - it's just when you've got fifty photos it's a chore to keep coming back to montage to get to the next. I think someone with a slow connection would quit after a couple of photos.

I don't think somebody with a slow connection would go to my photo page. That page itself takes something like 2 minutes to load at a slow connection.
