Sun!

Curse you David. I just caught up with SMOFS.

I'm in awe. Not to mention serious envy. I spent several serious hours hacking away at the backlog in my in-box. I just have to deal with all the mail received on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today now. Assuming I actually fire up the PC and fetch my mail.

I'm not quite sure why SMOFs exploded the way it did. There's some useful discussion in there, and some useful historical information. Unfortunately, most of the useful information would appear to apply to Programming, and the person or persons associated with Minicon 38 who would most benefit from this information are not yet publically revealed.

You did a good job of getting me back, though. I wasn't going to get a Sunday New York Times today. I read your other journal entry, and that pretty well shoots that plan.

Erik V. Olson started the whole flame war by cursing the longer bidding cycle. From there, it moved to a general putdown of WorldCons in general and programming in particular.

And I just now caught up with SMOFs myself, within the last fifteen minutes.
Cursing Erik Olson or Alex Von Thorn strikes me as more productive than cursing me, but what do *I* know.
And they did have that short thread about stuff to do before and after Conjose.
