Nighttime excitement

I awoke at 4:00 with a bat flying around in the bedroom. I tried to catch it with a towel, but didn't have much luck. Got it down on the bed once, but it took off again. It went behind a hat that's been hanging on the wall since a long ago Halloween, but it took off when I took the hat down from the wall. It finally set down on top of the TV, and I grabbed with the towel and marched it out the front door.

Sounds like the best possible outcome for both of you.

How does a bat get into one's house?

How

Good question, although they're very good at it. They can crawl through a very small hole. It's the first one I've ever seen in the house.

Chinook could take care of that for you.

We have bats in the yard, but they haven't seemed to want to come inside.

Be a little careful when incarcerating them; we do have rabies in bats in Minnesota.

I was very careful of its pointy little sharp teeth.
