What Tolkien Knew About Love
Like Henry Darger, he created an epic fantasy. Why is Tolkien remembered, and Darger nearly forgotten?

That Olive Garden piece is just weird. The writer appears to care a hell of a lot more about the comfort food (and freebies) than any possible date. Why doesn't she just go there on her own?

(I go to Olive Garden every so often, what I'd really like to be able to go to Ciatti's. That's the one I miss.)

Oh, I don't know. I should think there'd be an interesting article -- or series of articles -- in addressing the joys of the places that real foodies scorn. After all, people go there for a reason.

Am a fan of Henry Darger, and so is Grayson Perry, of whom I am also a fan.
