Cocktails at the Castle

I finally made it to a Cocktails at the Castle event at the American Swedish Institute last night. I ran into another election judge, right after I spilled some of my first cocktail over myself trying to hold it and fiddle with a camera at the same time. There wuz this guy with a foot lathe, and somebody I know had had a lathe encounter recently, and I thought, Oh my, I hafta film this..

The event was sold out. It went from collage button making, ping pong with MSP Film Society showing in the background, to eight or so bars scattered around the premises and two DJs. It ended, quite appropriately with Dancing Queen. The exhibits were open, and the collection of cups tagged with names at the entry to the mansion was quite impressive.

Thanks for all 3! The bit about green vs. dried wood, and hard vs. soft in "More Wood Lathe" answered my immediate questions, and, yes, "Best Wood Lathe" gives the best sense of how the foot action works with the turning.
