That looks wonderful! Better, even, than your pho!

You know, this Being OnLine is an expensive hobby.

By chance, I'm currently simmering an augmented mirpoix (onions (including some scallions & ripening garlic), lots of celery (starting to bolt to seed), and carrots (including tops), plus a few over-crowded plants of leaf mustard, a couple of overgrown radishes, sprigs of basil, thyme, oregano, & mint, a starting-to bloom pak choi, and whatever else needed clearing-out from the garden yesterday in the interest of making space for new plantings).

Now you have caused me to need to pop over to Arcadia (several dollars for gasoline) tomorrow for dim sum and to pick up a roasted duck (considerably more dollars), the skin & carcass/bones of which will be added (with a head or two of star anise, of course) to make Duck Soup or Congee. It's actually not likely that I'll go bankrupt, but if I do it will be All Your Fault.

Going bankrupt with a full belly beats going bankrupt with an empty one.

It's also true that if you moved to Minneapolis, you know someone in a position to provide you with a steady supply of duck skin & bones. Heck, you'd probably even be invited over to share in some of the ducks, too.
