I once read a book devoted to train wrecks deliberately arranged for the enjoyment of spectators. This was around 1993, when I was using them as a metaphor for the crash of 21 fragments of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 into Jupiter. Here's an example, with optional soundtrack.
