After a smoky smoffing session at the CC Club (convenient because I can walk there) Laura, David and I discussed the upcoming ConJose trip. After I got home, I smelled rather like a large cigarette. I fooled around on the computer for a few minutes and then gave up, showered and went to bed.
Thong ran off to the farmer's market this morning and returned with a bunch of plants, all of which he stuck in the ground. Guess he doesn't trust my planting abilities.

I'm not sure I've ever before entered a bar where the person at the door checking id was a) really interested in what books I was carrying, and carried on a considerable dialogue as I explained each book (Mr. Gaiman was a personal favorite of hers. She'd apparently met Neal once, and was favorably impressed. I avoided mentioning the last Minicon, and tried to interest her in Minicon 38. Her response was that she was more interested in alcohol and music than books, my rejoinder was that Minicon sounded like a really good fit for her).,
and b) remembered enough about the original question at closing time to give me grief about not loaning her one of my remaining books.
All that said, I had fun. Since the fun probably wasn't due to the drunk who was excessively polite early, or the fights that broke out late, I'm blaming you and Laura. I spent a short time after I got home last night looking at the guide books, I need to spend more time with them. I think it might be a good idea to take more time driving back down the coast, and avoid excess time in Los Angel
