All summer without TV

I killed the cable in May or June. Digital channels, 2 DVRs, the whole works. A certain Asian finally went out and procured some rabbit ears, but otherwise, no TV for the summer. They appeared suddenly when the bridge fell. Odd, that.

Killing the Sunday Stribune ended the avalanche of advertising, which I think was its main content. The recent merger/musical publisher chairs had decreased their reporting. When the bridge fell, they were as clueless as the rest of the world, although when they dug into it, they uncovered more. Too bad they didn't look until the horse had left the pasture.

So far, killing TV has not resulted in a clean desk, although it's cleaner today than its been in a bit. Some of that is the result of looking for a card for the laptop which has decided the internet does not exist today. Hub prices are falling. MicroCenter has some pre-N or Mimo routers on sale for prices that are appealing. None yet with a few gigabit ports, but so it goes. They'll come down soon.

I've been TVless for almost two years.
But don't cop to being uninformed.
If you have the internet, you can't be.
And if there really are television series I like, I can download them sans commercials the following day.

The proper reply is:
"Whoda thunk it!"
