/M/a/y/b/e/ I'm just an old fuddy-duddy, but was struck both by the (unacceptably political, for public consumption) nature of his comments and by the BBC News photo of him /o/n/ /t/h/e/ /c/a/r/p/e/t/ in consultation with the President of the United States -- his Commander-in-chief. He was wearing camo/fatigues & combat boots.

Back In My Day [pause to stroke long white beard] military people would have worn a much more formal uniform for such an Event. It seems to me that camo is fine for on-the-job work in a battle zone, but under these conditions it smacks of ostentatious disrespect.
